Syracuse wide receiver Darrell Gill Jr. was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Receiver of the Week on Monday after a standout effort in the Orange’s 66-24 victory over Colgate.

The junior emerged as quarterback Steve Angeli’s go-to target Friday night, posting six receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Gill’s one-handed, leaping grab in the first half drew national attention, topping SportsCenter’s highlights and appearing on the network’s “You Got Mossed” segment over the weekend.
Gill ranks fifth in the ACC with 268 receiving yards through two games. He totaled 570 yards and two scores on 31 catches in 2024 as a secondary option, but has quickly become Syracuse’s primary deep threat this season.
His recognition marks the first time a Syracuse player has earned an ACC weekly award in 2025.
The Orange, now 2-1, will open its conference schedule Saturday on the road against Clemson.
