Syracuse football continues one of its oldest rivalries tonight when it hosts Colgate at 7 p.m. inside the JMA Wireless Dome, with the game airing on ACC Network.
The Orange (1-1) and Raiders (0-2) will meet for the 69th time in a series that began in 1891, with Syracuse holding a slight 32-31 edge. Only two schools have faced Cuse more often than Colgate, making the matchup a long-standing staple of Central New York football.
The Orange enters this matchup with momentum after a 29-23 overtime win against UConn last week, rallying from a double-digit deficit to pick up their first win. Syracuse’s defense kept the Huskies out of the end zone after halftime, while the offense scored four times in the closing stages to complete the comeback. Meanwhile, Colgate looks to avoid a 0-3 start after dropping its first two games by a combined 10 points.
This will mark Syracuse’s 27th Friday game since 2010, with 20 of them at the Dome. The Orange have won nine of their last 14 on Fridays and have never lost to an FCS opponent since the 1978 division split.
