Residents across the Finger Lakes and beyond have several chances this month to weigh in on New York’s Draft State Energy Plan.
The State Energy Planning Board has announced a series of public hearings—including two virtual sessions open to everyone statewide—as part of its review process for shaping the state’s long-term energy strategy.
Local residents are encouraged to attend and share their input, especially during the two upcoming virtual hearings on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Those who want to speak during a virtual hearing must join via Zoom—not by phone—and are encouraged to pre-register to ensure a chance to comment. Written feedback is also accepted through October 6, and will carry equal weight in the decision-making process.

All hearings will be recorded, transcribed, and posted publicly. Each participant will have two minutes to share remarks, and live captioning will be available in multiple languages.
