A traffic stop in the Town of Walworth led to the arrest of an Ontario man now facing multiple impaired driving charges.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Angelo Maddalena, 38, was arrested April 19 following a stop on Atlantic Avenue.
Deputies reported detecting the odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting further investigation. Maddalena was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and additional traffic violations.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the sheriff’s office Ontario substation, where a drug recognition expert conducted an evaluation. Maddalena was later processed and released on an appearance ticket.
