A late-night 911 call about a woman in the roadway led to a felony DWI arrest in the Town of Ovid, where deputies said a vehicle was blocking traffic and the driver was highly intoxicated.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reported that Erin W. Taylor, 52, of Ovid, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. April 18 following the incident.
Deputies were dispatched after a report of a woman crawling in the middle of the road. Upon arrival, they located a vehicle stopped in the roadway, obstructing the westbound lane with its lights on.
An investigation determined Taylor had been operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She was charged with felony driving while intoxicated due to a prior conviction, as well as aggravated DWI, leaving from a lane unsafely, and parking on a public highway obstructing traffic.
Authorities said Taylor submitted to a chemical breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 0.27%.
She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Ovid Town Court on May 19.
