Bath man charged with child endangerment, unlawful imprisonment

Police arrested a Bath man after responding to a report of a physical domestic dispute on Geneva Street.

Jacob Edwards-Gavette, 29, was taken into custody around 7:52 a.m. Jan. 25 after officers determined he was the primary aggressor, according to the Village of Bath Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Geneva Street for a report of a physical domestic in progress.

Police charged Edwards-Gavette with attempted criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class B misdemeanor. He also faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Edwards-Gavette was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he was later released.
