A deadly house fire on East Lake Road left one victim Tuesday morning in the town of Conquest. First resopnders said the fire was reported around 8:30 a.m. near Duck Lake.
Investigators found the victim inside the home. Schenck identified the victim only as an older man.
Authorities are withholding his name until family members are notified. No other people or pets were inside the house when the fire started, Schenck said.
Investigators believe the fire started accidentally. The sheriff’s office is continuing to examine the scene.
Several departments responded to the call, according to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire. Crews came from Conquest, Cato, Victory, South Butler, Savannah, Port Byron and Oswego. CIMVAC Ambulance also responded.
