Walworth woman arrested after biting Newark hospital worker

Police made an arrest after officers responded to a reported disturbance at a Wayne County hospital Friday night.

Newark Village Police say Emily M. Morlock, 32, of Hennessey Road in Walworth became distraught inside Newark-Wayne Hospital and bit a hospital security guard, causing an injury. Officers say she also fought with police when they arrived.

Police responded to the hospital at 8:18 p.m. on Jan. 2 after receiving a call about the disturbance, according to information released by WayneTimes.com.

Officers allege the incident escalated after Morlock bit the security guard on the arm. Police say she then resisted and fought with responding Newark officers as they tried to take her into custody.

Morlock was arrested at the scene and transported to the Wayne County Jail.

Police charged Morlock with several offenses, including harassment in the second degree for physical contact, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.

She also faces a felony charge of assault in the second degree with intent to cause physical injury, police said.

Morlock was held at the Wayne County Jail for CAP Court arraignment. She was later released on her own recognizance.

Police scheduled her to appear in Lyons Court on Jan. 7 to answer the charges.

The case remains pending in court, and no additional details were released about the incident.
