A plan to hit pause on major development in Lansing is wobbling again after town leaders scrapped a public hearing and signaled they need more time to review the proposal, according to The Ithaca Voice.
The one-year moratorium, drafted after an AI data center was proposed for the old Cayuga Power Plant site, has split residents and survived a narrow vote to keep it alive. The company behind the project, TeraWulf, says the measure unfairly targets them and is threatening litigation.
Planning and zoning officials have urged either withdrawal or major revisions, leaving the Town Board to reconsider its next steps without public comment this month.
