Deputies arrested a Geneva man after an overnight string of unwanted messages and calls that began the evening of Nov. 1.
Ivanerick J. Lugo, 28, was taken into custody after deputies say he contacted the victim at least 67 times — including texts from four different phone numbers and an attempt to reach out via Cash App. The messages continued from around 7 p.m. that night through noon the next day, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies had warned Lugo to stop contacting the victim. He allegedly sent one more apology text after that warning.
Lugo was charged with fourth-degree stalking and was scheduled to be arraigned the evening of Nov. 2 in the town of Lyons.
