Bills’ Matt Milano, Ed Oliver to miss Thursday’s game vs. Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills will be without two key defensive starters for Thursday night’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins.

Coach Sean McDermott confirmed on WGR 550 that linebacker Matt Milano and defensive tackle Ed Oliver have been ruled out.

Milano left Sunday’s win over the New York Jets with a pectoral injury and did not return for the second half. The 31-year-old, who has dealt with multiple injuries over the past two seasons, has no clear timetable for recovery. Rookie linebacker Dorian Williams is expected to start in his place.

Oliver will miss his second consecutive game after suffering a left ankle injury in practice last week when another player stepped on his foot. McDermott said the team hopes to have him back soon, but did not provide a specific return date.

Nickel cornerback Taron Johnson, who missed Week 2 with a quadriceps issue, is considered questionable but has expressed optimism about playing Thursday. Backup defensive back Cam Lewis, sidelined by a shoulder injury, is also questionable.
