An Ontario County Jail inmate already facing a murder charge connected to the death of Sam Nordquist is now facing an additional felony assault charge following a separate jail incident.
On August 5, Jennifer A. Quijano, 31, was arrested for assault in the second degree after she allegedly attacked another inmate at the jail on July 31. Investigators say Quijano struck the inmate in the face and head multiple times, causing physical injuries. She was arraigned at CAP Court and remains in custody.
The arrest adds to Quijano’s legal troubles, as she is already one of five suspects charged with second-degree murder under New York’s depraved indifference statute in connection to the killing of Sam Nordquist. The case, described by authorities as “beyond depraved,” involves allegations that Nordquist, a transgender man, endured months of physical and psychological abuse before being killed and his body dumped in a remote field in Yates County.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Quijano and four others—Precious Arzuaga, Kyle Sage, Patrick Goodwin, and Emily Motyca—are being held without bail. Prosecutors say a Grand Jury will soon hear evidence in the homicide case.
Quijano’s latest arrest was handled by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division.
