A car crash early Tuesday morning in the Town of Montour left one man dead and speed appears to be to blame, according to the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies found a white 2014 Honda off Mitchell Hollow Road just after 5:30 a.m. The driver, identified as Thomas J. Gaylor, was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division said speed contributed to the crash, though no other vehicles were involved.
Emergency crews from Odessa and Montour Falls fire departments responded, along with Centralus Health EMS. Wolfe’s Garage handled the vehicle recovery. The Schuyler County Coroner’s Office is also involved in the case.
