A Lima man was arrested Tuesday morning after police say he was found driving a stolen SUV in Seneca Falls and in possession of an illegal weapon.
Verdell Cunningham, 61, was taken into custody on Sept. 24 after officers with the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department stopped him near the intersection of State Route 414 and State Route 5. Police said Cunningham was operating a 2022 GMC Terrain that had been reported stolen out of Monroe County.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered Cunningham was also in possession of metal knuckles, leading to an additional weapons charge.
Cunningham faces charges of criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
Authorities said the arrest was made without incident.
