Seneca Falls police arrested a local man for trying to use counterfeit money at a town business.
John Walters Jr., 46, of Seneca Falls, was arrested on August 3, 2024, after allegedly using a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for services at a local business. According to the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department, Walters received services and was given genuine U.S. currency as change.
Walters was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, falsifying business records, and petit larceny. He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he awaits arraignment.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about counterfeit currency in the community. Authorities encourage businesses and residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
