Charges against two dozen Cornell students expected to be dismissed

Charges against two dozen Cornell University students and staff arrested during a sit-in protest last month are likely to be dismissed, provided they avoid further arrests.

The group, which protested Cornell’s affiliations with Israeli organizations, pleaded not guilty in Ithaca City Court.

Judge Seth Peacock indicated their cases could be dismissed within a month under an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal (ACD) agreement offered by the Tompkins County District Attorney due to the unique nature of the case, according to the Ithaca Voice.

The group must refrain from any offenses until May 16 to have their charges dismissed and records expunged.
