Sabres forward Casey Mittelstadt removed from COVID-19 list; zero players on list for first time since Feb. 1

For the first time in over two weeks, there are zero Buffalo Sabres players or coaches on the NHL’s COVID-19 list.

Forward Casey Mittelstadt was removed from the COVID-19 list on Wednesday.

Mittelstadt, 22, has one assist in two games with the Sabres this season.

Taylor Hall, Rasmus Ristolainen, Brandon Montour, Tobias Rieder, Jake McCabe, Curtis Lazar, Rasmus Dahlin and Dylan Cozens have either rejoined the team or skated separately in recent days.

Hall and Ristolainen were the first Sabres added to the Covid protocol list when the team’s season was paused temporarily Feb. 2. Hall, Montour, Rieder and McCabe have since told the media they tested positive for Covid-19. Only Hall was asymptomatic.

The 4-6-2 Sabres take on the Washington Capitals in the nation’s capital on Thursday.
