A Seneca Falls woman is facing felony charges after deputies said she filed false paperwork while seeking temporary assistance through Seneca County.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said Shaniqura N. Bailey, 33, was arrested around 5:49 p.m. June 19 in the Town of Seneca Falls and charged with two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
Deputies said Bailey applied for temporary assistance through the Seneca County Department of Human Services and falsely claimed she was unemployed.
Investigators allege Bailey was employed and filed a false instrument with the intent to defraud the Department of Human Services.
Bailey was taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for processing, then turned over to the sheriff’s office Corrections Division. Deputies said she was later released with an appearance ticket and will answer the charges at a later date.
