A routine traffic stop in the early morning hours Sunday led to a DWI arrest in the village of Waterloo, police said.
Officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding shortly after midnight, an encounter that escalated into an arrest after further investigation at the scene.
The Waterloo Police Department reported that at approximately 12:03 a.m. on May 3, Zues A. Gonzalez Del Valle, 42, of Bayside, was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Police said the stop was initiated for speeding in a posted zone. During the investigation, officers determined Gonzalez Del Valle was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition.
