Two Schuyler County men sentenced in separate meth, bail jumping cases

Two Schuyler County men have been sentenced to state prison in separate cases tied to methamphetamine-related offenses, according to the district attorney’s office.

Both cases stem from prior convictions and investigations that prosecutors say involved drug manufacturing and possession, as well as a failure to appear in court.

Donnie J. Bonham, 55, of Rock Stream, pleaded guilty April 30 in Schuyler County Court to second-degree bail jumping, a Class E felony. Prosecutors said Bonham failed to appear for sentencing in a prior case involving the unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

He was sentenced as a second felony offender to 1½ to 3 years in state prison.

According to the district attorney’s office, Bonham had previously pleaded guilty in March 2022 to third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine but did not appear for sentencing. A warrant was issued, and he was later indicted on the bail jumping charge. He was ultimately sentenced in absentia in September 2022 to four years in prison, along with two years of post-release supervision, before being extradited from Pennsylvania in 2025.

In a separate case, Jeremy L. Wright, 45, also of Rock Stream, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A-II felony. Wright was sentenced April 30 as a second felony offender to nine years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Authorities said Wright was arrested in April 2025 after a search warrant was executed at his residence. Investigators reported finding approximately two gallons of methamphetamine in liquid form, along with crystal meth, manufacturing equipment, pseudoephedrine pills, digital scales, and packaging materials.

Both cases were prosecuted by Schuyler County District Attorney Jeremy Hourihan, with assistance from state police and specialized narcotics enforcement units.
