A Canandaigua man is facing charges after deputies say a fire set outside a motel room created a dangerous situation for nearby residents.
Authorities say the incident happened days before the arrest and posed a risk to both people and property.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas Alan Bush, 62, was taken into custody shortly after midnight May 1 and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment.
Investigators said the charge stems from a fire reported April 26 outside room 26 at the Woodridge Motel on County Road 50. Deputies said the fire was started near the building’s entrance, placing residents at substantial risk of serious injury and threatening the structure.
Bush was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in court at a later date.
