Waterloo man arrested for DWI after blocking traffic in Tyre

A Waterloo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after deputies found him unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle blocking traffic in the Town of Tyre.

The incident prompted a response to a busy intersection where the vehicle had come to a stop.

Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson reported that Douglas Albro, 57, was taken into custody around 1 p.m. April 26 following a report of an unresponsive driver.

Deputies located Albro in a truck obstructing traffic near the intersection of State Route 318 and Route 414. After an investigation at the scene, authorities determined he was intoxicated and placed him under arrest.

Albro was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for processing and later released on an appearance ticket.

He is scheduled to answer the charge in a local court at a later date.
