A Geneva man is facing multiple felony charges after a child sexual abuse investigation led to the execution of search warrants in Ontario and Seneca counties.
Authorities say the case involves alleged conduct with a child under the age of 11 and could result in additional charges.
The Geneva Police Department reported that Rafael Arroyo-Ubiles, 32, of Geneva, was arrested April 30 around 7 p.m. following an investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau.
Police said the arrest followed the execution of search warrants at the defendant’s residence in the Courtyard Apartments in Geneva and at a second location in Seneca Falls.
During the search, investigators said they recovered a concealed cellphone containing images and videos allegedly showing Arroyo-Ubiles engaged in sexual contact with a child under 11.
Arroyo-Ubiles was charged with first-degree rape, a Class B felony; first-degree sexual abuse, a Class D felony; and use of a child in a sexual performance, a Class C felony.
He was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Geneva Police Department, and transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
Police said additional charges are pending.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and Seneca Falls Police Department assisted in the investigation and execution of the warrants.
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact the Geneva Police Department.
