Bills activate DT Ed Oliver, WR Curtis Samuel from injured reserve

The Buffalo Bills received encouraging injury news ahead of Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Denver Broncos, activating two key pieces from injured reserve.

Defensive tackle Ed Oliver and wide receiver Curtis Samuel were both returned to the 53-man roster and are eligible to play. Although each is still listed as questionable on the final injury report, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that both players are expected to suit up. Oliver has been sidelined since late October with a biceps injury, while Samuel has missed time due to an elbow issue.

Both players had their practice windows opened Tuesday. Oliver was limited throughout the week, while Samuel progressed to full participation in the final two practices, signaling a positive step toward returning in the postseason.

Buffalo also added depth for Saturday’s game by elevating running back Frank Gore Jr. and wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. from the practice squad.

Injuries have tested the Bills’ defensive line and wide receiver rooms throughout the season, making the potential return of Oliver and Samuel particularly significant. Oliver last appeared in a game on October 26 against the Carolina Panthers, while Samuel’s most recent game action came November 16 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
