Ithaca Police Department Lt. Thomas William Condzella died March 10, according to an obituary and a statement from the department.
Condzella joined the Ithaca Police Department in 2015 as a patrol officer and was later promoted to sergeant and lieutenant.
During his time with the department, he served on the Specialized Response Team, Crash Reconstruction Team and Recruitment Team. He also served as president of the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association.
Condzella previously worked with the Riverhead Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Joseph and Thomas, as well as other family members.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home in Wading River.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, March 16, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, followed by burial at St. Isidore Cemetery.
