Farmington man charged with aggravated DWI in Penn Yan

A Farmington man was arrested late March 12 following a traffic stop on Elm Street in the Village of Penn Yan, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua G. Brubaker, 34, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more.

He was also cited for moving from a lane unsafely and speeding.

Deputies said they stopped Brubaker’s vehicle around 11:47 p.m. for a traffic violation. During the stop, deputies observed signs of intoxication.

Brubaker was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested, authorities said.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail, where he submitted to a chemical test.

Brubaker was later released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
