A single-vehicle crash in Romulus led deputies to a drug-impaired driving arrest and a serious felony charge.
Seneca County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 28-year-old Waterloo woman following the investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded around 10 a.m. Dec. 28 to a property damage accident on State Route 96. Investigators said the vehicle was traveling south when it left the roadway and struck a ditch. No injuries were reported.
Deputies identified the driver as Kimberly Donahue, 28, of Waterloo. Following the crash investigation, deputies determined she was operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, authorities said.
A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine along with other drug paraphernalia.
Deputies charged Donahue with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony.
Donahue received an appearance ticket for the DWAI charge and several moving violations. She is scheduled to appear in Romulus Town Court on Jan. 23 at 10 a.m.
Authorities turned her over to correctional staff to be held for centralized arraignment proceedings on the felony drug charge. The New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
