A rare joint appearance put Mayor Eric Adams back in front of cameras as he and Gov. Kathy Hochul promoted a massive new education and science campus, according to Spectrum News NY1.
The leaders highlighted the SPARC Kips Bay project, a health and life sciences hub expected to create 15,000 jobs and train about 4,500 students for high-paying careers. Eric Adams said the project will help keep New Yorkers working in the city, while Kathy Hochul framed it as a lesson from pandemic-era health care shortages.
The event marked Adams’ first press appearance in weeks following a personal overseas trip. He left without taking questions as scrutiny grows over his travel and recent decisions. Construction on SPARC Kips Bay is expected to begin soon.
