Mets end four-game skid with win over Giants (highlights)

The New York Mets ended their four-game losing streak on Saturday evening, defeating the San Francisco Giants 12-6 at Citi Field behind a breakout performance from the top of the lineup.

Pete Alonso wasted no time setting the tone, launching a three-run homer in the first inning off Kai-Wei Teng, his second long ball in as many days, moving him within two of Darryl Strawberry’s franchise home run record.

After a quiet stretch, the offense came alive again in the middle innings, sparked by Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor, who delivered run-scoring hits in the fourth, sixth, and seventh to extend the lead. The trio of Nimmo, Lindor, and Alonso combined to go 8-for-12 with 10 RBI and five runs scored.

Cedric Mullins chipped in his first hit as a Met, stole a base, and scored in the fourth.

Kodai Senga struggled for the fourth straight start since returning from the injured list, surrendering four runs on five hits and three walks over four innings. He allowed a game-tying homer to former Met Dom Smith in the third and an RBI double to Jung Ho Lee in the fourth before exiting.

A revamped bullpen held firm, with Reed Garrett, Gregory Soto, Tyler Rogers, and Brooks Raley combining for four scoreless innings before Rico Garcia closed it out despite a two-run homer in the ninth.
