Rochester woman accused of striking child in Waterloo

A Rochester woman faces a child endangerment charge after police said she repeatedly struck a child in Waterloo.

The Waterloo Police Department said Keishaly C. Viruet, 32, of Rochester, was arrested June 29 following an investigation into the incident.

Police charged Viruet with endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigators said Viruet was seen striking her child repeatedly with her hand and a sandal.

She is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.
