The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Newark man following an investigation into criminal possession of a controlled substance stemming from a traffic stop last fall.
Gregory C. Naschke, 37, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Deputies allege that on Sept. 5, 2024, Naschke was found with a substance suspected to be cocaine while a passenger in a vehicle stopped on King Street in Williamson. The substance was sent to an independent laboratory for testing, which confirmed it was cocaine.
Naschke was taken into custody on Jan. 11 and issued an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Williamson Court on Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. to answer the charge.
The investigation was led by Deputy Scribner, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
