A weeks-long narcotics investigation in Geneva ended Friday morning with the arrests of two Rochester men accused of selling crack cocaine from separate locations in the city, according to police.
Shimal A. Slade, 27, and Jakequan V. Lake, 32, were charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance following the execution of no-knock search warrants at two Geneva residences around 5 a.m. Friday. Investigators allege Slade sold crack cocaine from a residence on Genesee Street, while Lake sold crack cocaine from a Lakeview Mental Health apartment building on Exchange Street.
The arrests were carried out by members of the Geneva Police Department Detective Bureau with assistance from the Ontario County and Wayne County sheriff’s SWAT team. Police said the warrants stemmed from a several-week investigation into narcotics sales within the city.
Authorities noted that Slade had previously been arrested in Geneva on Sept. 24, 2025, on the same charge. Both men were processed at the Geneva Police Department and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
The Geneva Police Department credited the Ontario, Wayne and Seneca county sheriff’s offices, along with the New York State Police, for assisting with the investigation.
