Notre Dame Cathedral unveiled its meticulously restored interior on Friday, showcasing its radiant limestone walls and repaired vaulted ceilings, according to the Associated Press.
The iconic Parisian landmark, ravaged by fire in 2019, now stands as a testament to French craftsmanship, with golden angels and vibrant stained glass illuminating the space. The public reopening is set for Dec. 8.
Reconstruction teams used traditional and modern methods, from hand-hewn oak beams for the roof to advanced cleaning techniques that revived centuries-old stonework.
Though the exterior remains a construction site, French President Emmanuel Macron and other dignitaries admired the transformed interior, which blends medieval artistry with contemporary restoration.
