A Rushville man was charged with felony drug possession Tuesday night after deputies say a bag containing suspected crack cocaine fell from his person while officers were attempting to make an arrest in Yates County.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 8:55 p.m. to a residence on South Main Street in the Village of Rushville to assist the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office with an arrest.
According to authorities, Ontario County deputies were making contact with Jeremy F. Borsching when they allegedly observed a small plastic baggie containing a white crystal-like substance fall from his person. The substance is believed to be crack cocaine, investigators said.
Yates County deputies were advised of the incident and subsequently arrested Borsching on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree.
Borsching was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Potter Town Court at a later date.
