A Waterloo woman was arrested Wednesday after Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say she stole merchandise from Walmart in the Town of Geneva and was also wanted on an active warrant tied to another theft investigation earlier this month.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Tia Royale Wade was taken into custody around 8:06 a.m. after being located by Geneva police and turned over to deputies.
According to investigators, Wade is accused of placing $134.94 worth of merchandise into a basket at Walmart on May 15 and leaving the store without attempting to pay. Deputies charged her with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
Authorities also said Wade had an active arrest warrant out of Geneva Town Court connected to a separate alleged theft at the Speedway convenience store on State Route 5 and 20 on May 5.
Wade was transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Geneva Town Court at a later date on both matters.
