A Farmington man was arrested following a fraud investigation.

According to a news release, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard Torres Maldonado, 56, of Farmington for offering a false instrument for filing.

Maldonado was arrested after it was discovered he failed to report his employment and income when he applied for SNAP benefits.

He will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
