Canandaigua police reported 15 arrest or summons cases from Sept. 13 through Oct. 2, including two drunken-driving arrests, an assault investigation and an eviction in which a man allegedly threatened an officer with a knife.
The cases appear in an Oct. 5 arrest blotter supplied by the Canandaigua Police Department. The charges are accusations; the department said several defendants were given appearance tickets or summonses for Canandaigua City Court, while others were taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Jason Ward, 36, of Canandaigua, was charged with trespass Sept. 13 after officers said he returned to an Eastern Boulevard business from which he had previously been barred. He was released with an appearance ticket.
Kaylee Ladisair, 35, of Canandaigua, was issued a criminal summons Sept. 14 after failing to appear in court on an earlier DWI arrest, police said. Her court date was not specified.
Evan Haggett, 31, of Victor, was charged with smoking cannabis in a city park Sept. 14. Police said an officer saw him smoking marijuana. He was released with an appearance ticket.
Louis Lavilla, 49, of Canandaigua, was charged Sept. 15 with third-degree assault and two counts of third-degree menacing after a disturbance on Niagara Street. Police said he approached two people aggressively with clenched fists, then fought one of them, causing a severe foot injury. He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
Marin Romona, 31, of Canandaigua, was issued a summons for second-degree harassment Sept. 16. Police alleged Romona punched another person in the face during a Sept. 5 disturbance at Parkway Plaza. A court date was not specified.
Juan Lebron-Jimenez, 18, of Canandaigua, was charged Sept. 18 with third-degree escape, resisting arrest, two counts of obstructing governmental administration and being in a city park after hours. Police said he refused repeated orders to leave Commons Park on South Main Street, resisted officers, briefly escaped while being escorted to a patrol vehicle and refused to provide a photograph and fingerprints at the police station. He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
Lonnie Smith, 59, of Omaha, was charged with DWI Sept. 19 after an officer saw his vehicle doing burnouts on the City Pier, police said. Officers reported signs of intoxication. Smith was released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
Kenny Ledgerwood, 56, of Canandaigua, was issued a dog-at-large summons Sept. 21. Police alleged his dog roamed without a leash and bit another dog. He is due in city court at a later date.
Timothy Moorer, 52, of Geneva, was charged with DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation Sept. 22 after officers said he made an illegal U-turn at South Main and Beeman streets. Police reported signs of intoxication and said his driving privileges had been suspended because of a previous DWI arrest. He was released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
Patrick Bean, 33, of Canandaigua, was charged Sept. 23 with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment after a disturbance on Saltonstall Street. Police alleged he slapped another person, held that person to the floor and choked them. He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
Felicia Bedford, 37, of Canandaigua, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny Sept. 24 after a purse was reported missing on Parrish Street. Police alleged she took the purse, which contained cash and credit cards, and discarded it in a dumpster outside her home. She was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
Daniel Kester, 61, of Canandaigua, was charged with third-degree criminal tampering Sept. 25. Police said they identified him after a report that someone dumped feces at the Byrne Dairy property Sept. 9 and obtained an arrest warrant. He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
David Nesbitt, 87, of Canandaigua, was charged Sept. 29 with third-degree criminal trespass and menacing a police officer during an eviction on Wilcox Lane. Police said he remained in an apartment after being evicted and threatened a responding officer with a knife. He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
Peter Nichiporuk, 47, of Canandaigua, was charged Sept. 29 with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree harassment following a fire at a Bristol Street apartment. Police said Nichiporuk jumped from an apartment window, hid in a bush and was found unconscious. Officers reported finding a baggie of crack cocaine while emergency medical workers treated him. At Thompson Hospital, police alleged he shoved officers while trying to flee. He was released with an appearance ticket.
Carlos Acosta, 40, of Canandaigua, was charged Oct. 2 with first-degree criminal contempt after a disturbance on Jefferson Avenue. Police alleged he violated an order of protection by making physical contact with the protected person. He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
