Fulton contractor charged with trespassing in Cato camper

A Fulton contractor was charged with a misdemeanor after a Cayuga County resident reported that the worker entered his camper without permission, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies identified the contractor as Todd Calkins, 53. They said they went to an address in the town of Cato on Sept. 22 after the resident reported that Calkins, who had been hired to work on an exterior deck, went inside the camper. The resident told deputies Calkins had never been given permission to enter it.

Calkins turned himself in at the Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, according to the release.

He was processed and issued an appearance ticket for Cato Town Court at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5. The release did not report an arraignment or any court outcome.
