Keuka College has been named a 2026-27 College of Distinction, marking the 12th consecutive year the college has received the national designation.
The college also earned specialized recognition for its business, education and nursing programs, along with designation as a New York Private College of Distinction.
Colleges of Distinction evaluates schools based on student-centered education, teaching quality, community engagement and successful post-graduate outcomes. The organization recognizes colleges and universities that emphasize undergraduate engagement, experiential learning and career preparation.
Keuka College cited its Field Period program, international study opportunities, undergraduate research and faculty mentorship as examples of that approach. Its business, education and nursing programs were recognized for combining academic work with internships, clinical experiences and community engagement.
College President Amy Storey said the designation reflects the work of faculty and staff to give students professional experience before graduation. She pointed to Field Period placements, nursing practicums and internships as ways students begin preparing for their careers while enrolled.
Twyla J. Cummings, chair of the college's Board of Trustees, said the recognition reflects continued investment in innovation, student support and academic rigor. Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer of Colleges of Distinction, said Keuka College provides an intentional education designed to prepare students for what comes next.
