A Canandaigua man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after police said he pointed a BB gun at a child during a disturbance at a Cayuga Road home.
Officers responded shortly after midnight July 2 and found Seth O. Merklinger, 25, holding what appeared to be a gun to his head while a woman and two young children remained inside the home.
Police said Merklinger eventually came outside and was taken into custody. Investigators later determined the weapon was a BB gun and alleged that he had pointed it at one of the children.
Merklinger was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated family offense, second-degree menacing and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
