A Hornell man was charged after Bath police said officers responded to a report of a man smashing things in a convenience store bathroom.
The Village of Bath Police Department said officers were called around 6:54 a.m. July 6 to Kwik Fill at 346 West Morris Street.
Police said officers found the man in the bathroom and determined after an investigation that he was under the influence of drugs and in possession of fentanyl.
The man was identified as Franklin G. Brockway of Hornell, according to police.
Brockway was charged with public appearance under the influence of drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said he was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Bath Village Court at a later date.
