Rochester Regional Health has started construction on a new $17.5 million orthopedic and neurosciences campus in Canandaigua, a project aimed at expanding access to specialized care throughout the Finger Lakes region.
The health system announced Wednesday that work is underway inside an existing 39,000-square-foot building at 183 Parrish St., where multiple orthopedic, spine, pain management, imaging and outpatient surgical services will eventually be consolidated under one roof.
The project will bring together several existing practices currently operating at separate locations in Canandaigua, including Canandaigua Orthopedic Associates, Finger Lakes Bone and Joint, and the Spine and Pain Center. Rochester Regional Health officials said the goal is to create a centralized destination for patients seeking orthopedic and neurological care.

Plans for the facility include a new ambulatory surgery center and hospital outpatient department featuring four operating rooms and 16 pre- and post-procedure bays. Patients will also have access to on-site MRI, X-ray and DEXA imaging services designed to streamline diagnosis and treatment.
When completed, the campus will include 32 exam rooms supporting orthopedic, spine, pain management and related specialties. Rochester Regional Health leaders said the project reflects growing demand for specialty care services across the Finger Lakes and will allow patients to access appointments, imaging and procedures in a single location.
Jennifer Eslinger, chief operating officer for Rochester Regional Health, said the new campus is intended to improve coordination and accessibility for patients requiring specialized treatment. Orthopedic and neuroscience leaders for the health system said the facility will support a more integrated approach to care for patients dealing with musculoskeletal, spinal and neurological conditions.
Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2027.
