A Liverpool man was taken to the hospital after deputies said he lost control of his vehicle and crashed along State Route 89 in the Town of Ovid last week.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on May 6, when deputies responded to a one-car personal injury accident on Route 89. Investigators found a Nissan Sentra that had left the roadway and overturned into a wooded area nearby.
Deputies said 23-year-old Ryan Covert, of Liverpool, was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle.
Covert suffered a shoulder injury and was transported to Cayuga Medical Center for evaluation. He was later issued a traffic ticket for failure to keep right.
South Seneca Ambulance and the Ovid Fire Department assisted at the scene.
