Yankees outlast Angels to snap skid in wild walk-off victory

The New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Angels , 11-10, on Monday night at Yankee Stadium, snapping a five-game losing streak in a back-and-forth contest that featured five home runs from New York and a dramatic walk-off finish. The Yankees improved to 9-7 on the season, overcoming multiple blown leads to secure the win in a 10-inning thriller.

New York’s offense was powered by the long ball, with Trent Grisham delivering the biggest blows. The outfielder came off the bench and launched a go-ahead three-run home run and tied it in the ninth inning with his second homer, finishing with five RBI in a clutch performance. Aaron Judge also had a strong night with two home runs and three RBI, while Jose Caballero added a two-run shot as the Yankees built multiple leads at 4-0, 7-4 and 8-7. Despite the power surge, New York struggled to capitalize in key moments, going 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and leaving 11 runners on base.

On the mound, Will Warren struck out six over 3.2 innings but was hurt by a four-run fourth inning, with all runs going unearned. The bullpen had trouble containing the Angels’ lineup, highlighted by Mike Trout’s two home runs, including a go-ahead blast in the eighth that appeared to put Los Angeles in control. Still, the Yankees found a way late, as Grisham’s ninth-inning homer set the stage for the winning rally.

In the bottom of the ninth, New York capitalized on control issues, as the Angels’ closer allowed multiple baserunners before uncorking a wild pitch that brought home the decisive run.
