Early budget planning is underway in Trumansburg as school leaders weigh rising costs against student needs, according to Tompkins Weekly.
The Trumansburg Central School District has begun shaping its 2026–2027 budget with a focus on educational programs and staff support. Administrators flagged growing expenses tied to employee benefits, including higher retirement contributions and an expected 8% jump in insurance costs.
District leaders are also watching enrollment, which they project will slowly rebound to just over 1,000 students by 2028. Officials plan multiple public presentations ahead of the school budget vote on May 21.
