Sheriff Milby sworn in for second term

Wayne County Sheriff Robert Milby has officially started his second term in office.

Milby was sworn in Wednesday during a ceremony attended by friends, family, county officials, and members of the Sheriff’s Office as he begins a new four-year term serving Wayne County residents.

Wayne County Judge Rick Healy administered the oath of office to Milby. The swearing-in marked Judge Healy’s final official act before his retirement at midnight.

During the ceremony, Milby reaffirmed his commitment to uphold the U.S. Constitution, the New York State Constitution, and the laws of Wayne County.

The event also included the swearing-in of Wayne County’s newly elected county clerk, Jessica Freer.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office congratulated both officials and said it looks forward to continued collaboration in service to county residents.
