The Mega Millions jackpot climbed to $50 million Friday night as lottery players checked their tickets across the country, according to syracuse.com.
The winning numbers for the March 13 drawing were 6, 19, 36, 40 and 55, with Mega Ball 9. The cash option for the jackpot sits at about $22.9 million.
Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of hitting the jackpot remain steep at about 1 in 302.6 million.
