A former correctional officer who testified about a fatal prison beating will now serve less time under a renegotiated plea deal, according to Spectrum News.
Prosecutors reduced the sentence for former Marcy Correctional Facility officer Glenn Trombly to two years in jail. He previously faced four years after admitting he failed to stop the beating of inmate Robert Brooks and encouraged false reports.
Trombly pleaded guilty to filing a false instrument and reckless endangerment. Prosecutors said credible threats against him played a role in renegotiating the deal.
