Eight-story housing planned in Collegetown

An eight-story apartment building could soon replace a longtime fire station in Collegetown, according to The Ithaca Voice. Plans call for 77 apartments at 309 College Ave., the former home of Fire Station No. 2.

Local developers Nick Robertson and Charlie O’Connor bought the site for $5.5 million and say the project will add housing while reviving street-level activity. The building would include mostly studios and one-bedrooms, plus ground-floor retail and resident amenities.

The proposal complies with zoning approved earlier this year. The City of Ithaca planning board could begin review in January, with construction targeted for late 2026.
