The Yates County Law Enforcement Officers Union’s annual Cops Kids Toys drive once again delivered holiday cheer to local families, thanks to community support and generous donations that helped ensure children in need have a brighter Christmas.
Union officials said this year’s drive was especially successful, highlighting a large toy donation from Ram Guduru that significantly boosted the program’s reach. In addition, Ram’s father, Dr. Sai Guduru, contributed a monetary donation to support the effort, helping officers purchase and distribute gifts to families across Yates County.
The Cops Kids Toys program is held each year by the Yates County Law Enforcement Officers Union Council 82, Local 1869, with the goal of making the holiday season special for children who might otherwise go without. Union leaders thanked the Guduru family for their continued support and generosity.

“These donations help ensure that families in need are able to enjoy this special time of year,” the union said in a statement, noting that community partnerships are critical to the program’s success.
Several members of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office joined Ram and Dr. Guduru for the donation, including Sgt. Chad Daggett, Deputy Sydney Spaulding, Sheriff Frank Ryan, Lt. Kevin Campbell, F/Sgt. Jeff Rider, Lt. Arlyn Cunningham, and Undersheriff Brandon Jensen.
Organizers say the annual toy drive is a reminder of the strong ties between local law enforcement and the community they serve, especially during the holiday season.
